On the morning of January 4th, 2023, The Narrow Way Church Youth and Young Adults’ Ministry embarked on a road trip to Lorne, accompanied by friends and family, for a day filled with fellowship and laughter.
Our chosen gathering spot was Lorne’s picturesque Beachside Park, where we unfolded a giant picnic blanket as we waited for the convo. As the day unfolded, conversations flowed freely, some of our youth members kicked off an impromptu soccer match, and others eagerly began to eat their lunches. We even had some unexpected and friendly visitors in the form of entertaining cockatoos that added to our outdoor dining experience.
Before long, we set off for “Teddy’s Lookout,” a vantage point renowned for offering one of the most breathtaking views of the iconic Great Ocean Road, known worldwide for its beauty.
Our adventure continued with a short drive to Cumberland River, where we embarked on a scenic walk upstream along the river track, deep into the lush bush. The journey involved some nimble boulder-hopping to stay dry and the joy of skimming rocks across the water. Our reward at the end of the trail was a serene spot next to cascading waters where we could unwind and rest with the tranquillity of nature.
Returning to our base at Lorne’s Beachside Park, we enjoyed a massive game of soccer with fellow Christians and local Kids we met there. It was literary 25 vs 10 and we play until it got dark.
As the day drew to a close, we reluctantly started our journey back home, cherishing the memories of an incredible day of fellowship and adventure.
