On May 28, 2023, following our customary Sunday service, the Youth and Young Adults Ministry of The Narrow Way Church embarked on an afternoon of fellowship at Werribee Gorge. This gathering was marked by a delightful BBQ, uplifting worship, and an enlightening devotional led by Brother Freddy.
The event began with enthusiastic participation from the young adults, who took charge of setting up. Under the watchful guidance of Pastor David, they kindled a fire pit and initiated a BBQ session. While some of the young adults focused on the BBQ and preparations, others engaged in activities like card games, football, and meaningful conversations. This informal setting allowed everyone to connect on a deeper level, moving beyond their usual weekly church gatherings.
Despite a sudden rain shower in the midst of our culinary endeavors, it failed to dampen our spirits. We powered through the brief downpour, undeterred in our pursuit of a good time.
Once the food was ready, Brother Freddy shared an inspiring devotional centered on facing life’s trials and tribulations, drawing wisdom from James 1:2, which encourages us to “count it all joy when you fall into various trials.” Brother Freddy’s message infused joy into our hearts and reminded us of the importance of keeping our focus on Jesus, placing our trust in the Lord, both during good times and especially during adversity.
Following the devotional, our voices joined together in worship, creating a harmonious chorus of praise to the Lord. Witnessing this collective devotion was a breathtaking sight.
As the evening concluded, we came together to clean up and extinguish the fire. In summary, it was a beautiful day spent in the company of our vibrant youth and young adults, immersed in the teachings of God’s Word, and sharing moments of communion with the Almighty.
